Here is our official response to inaccurate relocation claims made in a recent article:
On June 25, 2014 The Neighborhood News published an article titled “College Moving Into Bedford” on page 6 of their 91st Year NO. 37 edition indicating that our institution Virginia Marti College of Art and Design (VMCAD) located at 11724 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio intended to relocate the campus from the West side of Cleveland to the community of Bedford. While VMCAD appreciates the enthusiasm of all of the parties involved, it is important to provide a correction to the errors made in the article. At the current time, VMCAD has no plans to relocate the campus. VMCAD has been a vital part of the educational community servicing Cleveland and the surrounding areas since it was founded by Mrs. Virginia Marti-Veith in 1966. According to Mrs. Marti-Veith “It is important to note that any such relocation of an accredited institution such as ours requires advanced notification and approvals from the State of Ohio Board of Career Colleges and Schools, the Department of Education and our national accrediting agency, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
VMCAD is always interested in partnering with local communities to assist with their economic development. Bedford’s community and business leadership is forward thinking and has provided some interesting expansion options for VMACD consideration.
VMCAD currently offers Associate Degrees in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising. Persons interested in obtaining additional information about the institution, course offerings and start dates should contact their Admissions Department at 800-473-4350 or visit their website www.vmcad.edu. Mrs. Virginia Marti-Vieth also co-founded the Mission To The Fatherless which is a not-for-profit organization that rescues orphans and abandoned street children from a life of abuse, disease, starvation or poverty. This organization supplies children with a loving home environment, food, education and medical care by way of the 2 physical locations in East Africa / Kenya. Those interested in donations of time, money or resources should visit their website www.missiontothefatherless.org.
