Prerequisite: Second year standing
Introduction to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing,
and building materials and construction systems.
SPACE PLANNING I ID220
Prerequisite: ID100, ID200
Exploration of the concepts and methods of programming,
and planning the design solution to a problem for residential
spaces. This course is related to the two-dimensional
use of space in scaled drawing.
SPACE PLANNING II ID221
Prerequisite: ID220
This course provides further programming and planning
for commercial spaces with an emphasis on accessibility
for the physically challenged (ADA). Creative use of
space with a concept basis is required.
MATERIALS AND METHODS ID250
Prerequisite: Second year standing

them into interior design. Also, discussion of specifications,
textiles, finish materials, budget formulas, codes, market
issues, and basic bills of materials.
INTERIOR DESIGN I (Theory Studio) ID271
Prerequisites: ID100, ID200
A residential project of contemporary classic styling.
Family profile is provided for designing to meet a clientÕs
requirements. Furniture layouts will be developed. Presentation
will include a colored floor plan maquette and finish/color
boards. A verbal presentation will be made and the project
critiqued by faculty.
INTERIOR DESIGN II (Residential Project of Mediterranean
Styling) ID272
Prerequisite: ID271
This project is more complex than the first I.D. project.
Modifications of kitchen and master bath are necessary.
There is a program to follow for clientÕs goals
and scope.
INTERIOR DESIGN III (Commercial) ID273
Prerequisite: ID272
Commercial project including complete space planning
and compliance with ADA code. Considerable interior styling
and detailing required. A reflected ceiling plan will
be completed following the development of a lighting
design concept. Commercial finishes, furniture, and equipment
will to be utilized.
INTERIOR DESIGN IV (Problem) ID274
Prerequisites: ID273 and seventh quarter standing
Execution of a more complex project to be reviewed by
the entire Interior Design faculty. Includes evaluation
of drafting skills, rendering, thoroughness and aesthetic
taste.
INTERIOR DESIGN V ID279
Prerequisites: ID274 and eighth quarter standing
Execution of a complex project, either residential or
commercial, of the student's choice. Included will be
detailed programs, production drawings, renderings, presentation
boards, and budget. Students prepare to make an oral
presentation to a selected professional review board.
GRAPHICS IN INTERIOR DESIGN ID275
Prerequisite: ID200 or taken concurrently with ID200
Instruction in and discussion of effective and dramatic
presentation graphics. Step-by-step procedure for rendering
a variety of finish materials. Emphasis on media techniques
and rendering style refinement.
PORTFOLIO PREPARATION FOR INTERIOR DESIGNERS
ID282
Prerequisite: Eighth quarter standing
IStudents polish their work and design a portfolio in
preparation for graduation. Also, pointers about interviewing
for Interior Design positions and the nature of the workplace
